Why We Loved Living Here

Having previously lived in Primrose Hill, we were looking for more space and a different pace of life without sacrificing our connection to London. Hoppers Barn gave us exactly that balance.

It proved to be the perfect home for our blended family. The layout gave everyone space to live independently while still feeling connected. Our teenage daughter enjoyed her own suite within the main house, while the annexe provided a private retreat for our older son. Meanwhile, the room opposite the principal bedroom was ideal for our youngest child in his early years.

School life was wonderfully easy. Haileybury, one of the UK's leading independent schools, was within easy reach for the older children, with the school bus stopping directly opposite at The Tilbury. Heath Mount, one of Hertfordshire's most highly regarded prep schools, where our youngest attended nursery and school, was just a short drive away.

One of the things we loved most was the lifestyle. Weekend walks through Bramfield Woods, beautiful Hertfordshire countryside on the doorstep, and The Tilbury, widely regarded as one of the county's best gastro pubs, quite literally across the road.

In the summer, life naturally centred around the pool and terrace, with long evenings spent entertaining friends and family and enjoying the seamless connection between the house, gardens and outdoor living spaces.

With our offices based in King's Cross, the fast commuter services from Welwyn North allowed us to enjoy country living without losing our connection to London. Typical journey times of around 19 minutes during peak commuter periods made it possible to balance London careers with a very different quality of life, something we never took for granted.
